For non-destructive 3D imaging, micro-CT is still the preferred method, but it is unable to capture those really tiny features under a micron. With its amazing sub-micron accuracy, which enables us to view things like dentinal tubules, microscopic fissures, cementum layers, and even the dispersion of filler particles, nano-CT is the best option in this situation.
